The Contemplative Anabaptist

During the Protestant Reformation, a group of believers separated themselves from the mainstream of reform and insisted on listening to the prompting of the Holy Spirit rather than seek the approval of local magistrates for their religious meetings. Just as the church today is being re-formed by the Spirit into a new shape, the Anabaptist movement saw itself as a harbinger of how the Spirit was shaping the Church in 16th century Europe. How did these early Anabaptists practice their faith? How might their struggle to understand their radical calling inform our spiritual lives today? We will use the words of the Early Anabaptists as a invitation to listen for the Spirit in our time.

The retreat begins on Friday, October 17 at 5:00 pm and concludes on Saturday, October 18 at 4:00 pm. Cost is $100. Please register by October 4.
