Directors

David and Naomi Wenger serve as co-directors of The Hermitage. In this role, they offer hospitality, spiritual direction, worship leadership, group facilitation and the permission of silence to the many retreat guests they serve.

They have both attended Sursum Corda, a spiritual directors’ formation program of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina. Naomi received her MA from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. They came to The Hermitage in 2001 from Washington, D.C. where they lived for 18 years. There they operated a public relations agency serving the publishing industry and served their local congregation, Washington Community Fellowship, as lay leaders in worship and Christian education. The Wengers have four children ranging in age from 8-17.
